Why Raw Honey Is The Answer to Everything

Raw Honey Is Funny

If Food be thy medicine, honey is the cure-all. There’s nothing it cannot do!

Drizzle it everywhere – up your nose if it’s stuffed, down your throat if it’s dry.

Toss all your hair products! Douse your dandruff and mix it with castille soap for shampoo. Put highlights in your hair with honey and a pinch of cinnamon and olive oil stuck on for 6 hours. Pair it with olive oil to make a conditioner, and stop frizz by adding a teaspoon to your rinse water.

Big Pharma will soon be on its bees knees! It cures hang-overs, dark under eye circles, bad breath, warts and acne.

Proctor and Gamble no more as honey is the sweet new bubble bath, moisturizer and massage oil. Unwanted hair vanishes when you mix honey with sugar and lemon juice on cloth strips. Stimulate hair growth by applying one part honey and 9 parts water to your scalp for 3 hours. A 1:1:1 combo of honey, sugar and olive oil makes a skin scrub.

It helps you sleep, and helps you wake up!

And best of all, it never goes bad!

How A Girl With No Green Thumb Started Growing Basil Plants

Learning to grow basil

I don’t know how to grow vegetables, but I love cooking with fresh basil, so I buy potted basil plants and pick off the leaves, and within a week the plants die.

Learning to grow basil

After killing basil plants on six occasions, I finally decided to ask the lady at the farm market how to keep basil plants growing.

She said the plant likes sun and warmth during the day, but doesn’t like the cold at night.

She advised me to re-pot the plant in a pot twice the size of the one it comes in, and bring it inside at night.

Well, not gonna happen! I don’t like bringing bugs inside!

When I got home, I couldn’t find a bigger pot to re-pot it in, but I did keep it warm at night by hanging it on a fence outside the door and covering it with a dishcloth that acted like a snuggly little blanket.

The next day I re-potted the basil plant in a huge pot – a raised garden bed tucked beside the lettuce that doesn’t mind sleeping out all night in the Canadian spring weather.

But I gave the basil special treatment by covering it with a plastic bag at night.

The lady at the market shared another secret with me. She said to only pick the top leaves off the plant, and don’t touch the bottom leaves and it will grow more leaves. Now, after I pick some leaves off the top, new little leaves grow quickly to replace them.

This way I always have a bit more basil for pasta and pizza when I need some. 🙂

The Sequence of Selling

Selling Takes Personal Engagement

I am trying to learn how to sell, and a friend went to a conversion summit where Ryan Deiss spoke. (James Altucher had him on his podcast #225 about college).

She said Ryan said the most important thing about conversions for your business is the SEQUENCE. He says people are skipping steps and you can’t skip steps or it won’t work.

Here are his 8 steps to selling to a customer in sequence:

1) Awareness of your existence, an ad, connecting on Facebook.

2) Engagement – creating content that will engage people with you – blog, video, Facebook Live

3) Subscribe – gated content created so they have to give their information to subscribe to email list.

4) Convert – the prospect gives you time or money. You’ve got people interested and working with you.

5) Excite – When the person gets value from the transaction – you give your best. The person has bought something from you and now you are going to meet them in person or on direct messaging. Bring your “A” game to the meeting, treat it like a first date, dress sharp. You have to impress and give value to the person. Be at your utmost best

6) Ascend – they’re excited to the point where they’re ascending – they continue to buy from you, and buy more, and you send your high end products to them, for example if you work for a Multi-level marketing company, people see value.

7) Advocate – When a customer is happy with you, they give a testimonial, and they are happy to say good things about you.

8) Promote – When the person is willing to refer you, they will tell friends and colleagues that you are good. You’ve nailed it with a person that started out as a stranger!

Conversions – the sequence is important, like in any relationship, don’t skip stages and burn bridges.

For this week’s bettering yourself exercise, I am going to slip away from my routine activities each day, and do something creative every day to inspire my brain.  By using my imagination, I am going to unlock my creative potential and lose some stress by choosing an activity to do daily that is creative.  I will let you know how it goes next week.
