It’s Lights! Camera and Take Action! With Tamara Thompson’s Serious Take Productions

Lights Camera Action

With videos dominating social media, I was tired of wearing the #oldpeopleandtechnology hashtag, as a mature author and blogger, and I decided to learn how to make better videos.  This led me to Tamara Thompson’s website: Serious Take Productions.

Tamara teaches video techniques to female entrepreneurs.  She helps women grow their media channels, take action and sell their stories from the stage and connect them to their audiences by eliciting the right tones of lighting, sounds and hues to beautify their message.

If your video doesn’t grab your customers attention, they will scroll past it.  Tamara’s videos are gripping, especially the one she made about jogging that inspired me.

She zoomed in on her running shoes, as she headed out the door jogging, one foot in front of the other.  That simple graphic made me envision my feet in her runners, and inspired me to go jogging the next day, and the next day, and the next.  And, it was fun!

Jogging became an adventure.  I saw this guy in his backyard and patted him.

I touched Mary’s hand and whispered a blessing to her.

Helping Female Business Owners Succeed

Seeing Tamara operate the camera, relays a subliminal message to women as she passes the baton to them to also operate the camera, direct the action and take charge of the shoot.  But first she helps them sift through their content to pick the best stories to spotlight to their target audience.

Since Tamara offers so much value on her site, I contacted her about promoting her brand, so I could cross off my goal to write a second guest blog by the end of this year.

She is hosting a special event from Oct 26-28 in San Diego, California.  In this 3-Day Female Business Owner Experience, she will teach video techniques and marketing to women entrepreneurs.

When I asked Tamara how she has played the starring role in the success stories of so many female businesses, she says:

“sometimes it’s simply deciding which direction to go and making a plan and knowing the result you want to achieve and getting some help to find the vision to get you there.”

Tamara’s Dad Inspired Her to Pick Up The Camera

Tamara had help in finding the vision to get her there too, from stealing her dad’s video camera at age 7. To his credit, instead of telling her to put it down, he let her experiment with it and learn how to use it.

Since then, Tamara’s only shutter speeds have been 0 and 100.  Within a few years of discovering the camera she was making viral videos with 800k likes on her Youtube channel.  Then she became a documentary filmmaker and enrolled in film school. Ever since she has been staring down her fears and doing her best at what she is passionate about.

She generously shares her knowledge with women who want to succeed like her, and gives back by creating more brand influencers and turning her success into their success.
