Homeschooling During Covid-19 Will Teach Parents More Than Kids

As a tutor,I really saw how smart kids are! Homeschooling and Online Learning is Great!

I would say one little thing to my students, and they would take it away and create something amazing!

Some students get lost in a classroom with 30 other kids.

One of my students misheard her teacher say that all the cards she gave them had to be filled out with information by the next day. So she stayed up all night filling out the 100 cards, and the next morning the teacher asked her if she had filled in her 10 cards.

Since the virus hit, kids are being schooled at home, and parents are worried.

But kids learn by exploring and being curious.

I also homeschooled my eldest son who was an elite ice hockey player.

My son Cody (above) at The Portland Winter Hawks training camp with coach of The Vancouver Canucks, Travis Green.

During the year I homeschooled him, he played for a junior team that had practices during school days as there were a lot of older guys on the team who were out of school..

I only had to act as a guide and reviewer to him, and he did all his work quickly, and got good grades.

It was a much calmer learning experience than in the classroom, and he still communicated with his friends.

He had more time to think about what he was doing, and to do it his way.

I think if parent’s work schedules can be flexible, and kids can learn more at home and be supervised, we all win.
